Guide
You look for an opponent, meet at a spot on the map, fight and report who won. The ladder does the rest. Here is everything else: what you see of the opponent, how scoring works and what happens when something goes wrong.

1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 duel, and all three count toward the same ladder. In 2v2 and 3v3 you can join alone -the system builds your team- or with your own people, in premade. When there is a match, a zone on the border of your realms is assigned and the exact meeting point is marked on the map. Besides competitive you can play friendly: the same PvP without ranking, which is what remains when a season ends and the ladder is paused.
During the match you have a quick chat to alert each other -on my way, I'm at the spot, I've been killed-. When it ends, one uploads the screenshots and says who won; the other confirms and the ladder updates PL and MMR on its own. A friendly match isn't reported: you fight and end it with a button, without touching the ranking.
Of the opponent you only see their realm and subclass until the match closes or goes into dispute. No name, no race, no link to their profile. That way nobody prepares the fight against a specific person before it starts.
Here the name appears as soon as you accept, never before. Before confirming you only see the realm and the class: you can't pick an opponent by looking at who you're matched with. Once inside, you both know who to look for in the zone.
Ladder Points are the public table and what decides the season prizes. Winning adds, losing subtracts, and beating someone far above you adds more -the underdog bonus-.
It's the score the system uses to find an opponent, and you have it in view next to your PL. They are two different things: PL tells you how you're doing in the season, MMR tells you who you will be matched against. You can have a lot of PL from playing a lot and a modest MMR, or the other way round. A premade is matched with somewhat more demand than someone joining solo.
You report from the match itself and attach screenshots. Whoever abandons repeatedly is left without a queue for 12 hours.
If you reject the opponent's report, the match goes into dispute and moderation resolves it by looking at both sides' screenshots.
Repeating the same opponent in a row is limited and the system avoids matching you again for a while. Rigged matches are reverted.
Every season awards prizes to the top three of the ladder, and the podium stays forever in the Hall of Fame.
